SCP 001 the Gate Guardian

SCP 001 the Gate Guardian

SCP-001 the Gate Guardian is a humanoid entity of approximately 700 cubits in height. It is currently in an undisclosed location near the intersection of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Here is what features we know of this entity currently:

It has a number of luminous, wing-like appendages emerging from its shoulders, temples, ankles and wrists. No one managed to make an accurate count of the wings. However, most observers place the number somewhere between 2 and 108.

A weapon, which could be either a sword or a knife. The weapon seems to emit flames at a temperature rivaling that of the sun. However, there seems to be no anomalous effects in the surroundings due to the intense heat. Any entity that approaches within 1 km will be obliterated from existence. SCP-001 appears to be standing with its head bowed in a gesture of supplication with the sword in both hands.

Human beings that are in the presence of SCP-001 report hearing a voice in their heads. This voice gives them a directive which the subject cannot disobey. The most common one is: FORGET. This results in the subject walking away from SCP-001 with no memory of ever meeting it. Another directive was PREPARE, which was for the director of the Foundation. He said that it was his impetus for forming the organization.

Observers have reported that SCP-001 appears to be standing in front of a gate of immense proportions. Some long-range photographs occasionally detected what seems to be a pastoral grove within. It seems to contain numerous other entities similar to SCP-001 the Gate Guardian. One particular note is that there are two fruit trees of immense proportions near the center of the grove.

It is believed that SCP-001 the Gate Guardian is actually a guardian of the Garden of Eden. Based on ancient Babylonian texts and the Dead Sea Scrolls, the probability is pretty high. If this is the case, then SCP-001 could be the archangel Uriel.
