4 Mothman Sightings Before Disasters

We all know of the Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot. However, they are not the only creatures living among us. The contents of this site should be proof enough. Deep into the contents of cryptozoology, there is a creature that supposedly brings disasters. This creature is the Mothman. Multiple eyewitnesses talk of the Mothman sightings before disasters, and they are as terrifying as they sound.

The Silver Bridge Collapse. The mystery and fear surrounding this bird-like monster reached a critical point in December 1967. Forty-six people died when the bridge collapsed during rush-hours. They blamed the destruction on a dysfunctional eyebar in the suspension chain. However, the locals felt that something more sinister was at play. They thought it had something to do with the recent sightings of the eerie creature.

Chernobyl Disaster. On April 26th in 1986, the world’s worst nuclear disaster occurred when an explosion took place. The Reactor 4 at the Chernobyl nuclear plant exploded, and the nearby town had to evacuate all its inhabitants. In all the decades following the disaster, rumors flew all around. Workers and residents of Pripyat allegedly saw something eerie in the days prior to the explosion.

9/11. After the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, rumors flew that witnesses saw a large figure in the vicinity of the towers. On the day of the attack, people claimed that they could see Mothman’s face through the smoke and debris.

I-35W Bridge Collapse. Weirdly enough, there was another Mothman sighting during a bridge collapse. At rush hour on August 1, 2007, a bridge in Minneapolis gave way at its center. 13 people died and 145 got injured. Reports say that a Mothman-like figure started appearing near the bridge a month prior. Skeptics dismissed the creature.

All of these Mothman sightings before disasters are definitely bone-chilling. But what do they mean? Are they a warning of impeding danger? Or could they be the results of a monster wreaking havoc on Earth? We may never know for sure.
